After four months of head-down baby-raising and work, my little family finally got out of the house for a vacation! We had planned a week-long trip to Walt Disney World for labor day weekend but decided to skip it due to Covid concerns. Also, it would have been a very long drive for our little baby. We canceled our Swan Resort reservation (which we had booked with Marriott points) and used them towards a two-night stay at the St. Regis, Atlanta Georgia! I had been eyeing this property for a while since Atlanta is only 4 hours away and the resort looked gorgeous. Read on for the details of our first hotel stay with our baby and a review of the St. Regis Atlanta GA: Five Star Luxury.

First Impression

Driving through the Buckhead region of Atlanta feels a little surreal. All the houses look like mansions and the cars are all luxury vehicles. I had a feeling this was going to be a nice location. Driving up the property was well kept and the valet friendly. We were immediately helped as we unloaded an UNGODLY amount of stuff. Since this was our first trip with the baby we had no idea what we needed… so we just brought everything. I never felt judged or embarrassed by the staff as they helped us check in and make our way to our room. We were even greeted with a tray of fresh fruit and a personalized note from our own butler, now that’s service! It was all VERY welcome after what felt like a long 4-hour drive!

Room

Our room felt huge for standard non-suite accommodations. The king-size bed was so comfortable (I’ve been dreaming about it since we got home!). There was a Nespresso coffee maker with tasty coffee pods. Plenty of alcohol in the fridge if you wanted to purchase it, plus a wet bar. We were also impressed by the amount of storage around the room. On top of the closets, there were drawers to store anything you might need. There were even St.Regis branded stationery and postcards with an array of pens for your convenience. Nice touch!

The bathroom was awesome with a HUGE tub and a separate room for a shower and toilet. This setup ended up being perfect for us. Each night after we put the baby to bed in the bedroom we retreated to the bathroom to hang out until we were ready to sleep. We even moved the two chairs from the main room into the bathroom (they fit!) so we could be completely comfortable. It all worked out great!

Food

Our main goals for our trip were to eat tasty food and relax. The food part was easy since the St. Regis has AMAZING in-room dining! We ended up ordering almost all of our meals to our room since everything was great and it was very convenient. I would love to visit again and try their on-site restaurants. I have no doubt that the food would be equally impressive. We had fresh parfaits for breakfast, and burgers and lobster salads for dinner. Their tea service was excellent and they also offer afternoon tea on the weekends in the Astor Court dining room. I cannot rave enough about the food, we were very pleased!

The St. Regis is also situated in an area with plenty of great dining options nearby. We grabbed some tacos from Velvet Taco for lunch one day, and sandwiches from Whole Foods the next (Whole Foods is right across the street!). I will definitely need to go back to Atlanta for the amazing food scene, there were plenty of places I wanted to try!

Spa

One of our vacation goals was relaxation, so my husband treated me to a wonderful afternoon at the St. Regis Spa. I had a Stress Relief massage which I desperately needed. The whole experience was one of the best massage experiences I have ever had. There was a wonderful relaxation waiting room before the massage, aromatherapy, a foot scrub, everything had been well thought out. The massage therapist worked with me to give me a very personalized massage (and also made me realize I need to take more time to stretch!). Everything was very clean and I felt comfortable enjoying the spa even during Covid. The staff all wore masks and everything was sparkling clean.

The spa shop was also excellent (I am a sucker for fancy body products!). I ended up purchasing a complexion correcting face lotion on a recommendation by the shop attendant. I’ve been using this product daily and absolutely love it, great recommendation!

St. Regis Atlanta Amenities

I was lucky enough to get to enjoy many of the hotel’s amenities. First of all, each room comes with a personal butler. This was a fantastic touch of luxury and the service was impeccable. They also offer a car service for free within a small radius of the hotel. We didn’t use this, though I could imagine it being useful if you had flown in and didn’t have your own vehicle.

Just because I was on vacation didn’t mean I stopped running! Each morning I made my way to the gym for a run on the treadmill. Everything was very clean and there was an attendant there to provide water and towels. It was a very nice gym! The cardio equipment overlooked the pool area which was great as I dreamed of swimming while I worked up a sweat.

The pool was gorgeous. Though it seemed to get crowded later in the day. This is why I visited it first thing in the morning when it opened. There was no one else there when I first arrived. The pool attendant quickly skimmed the water to make sure it was clean when I got in. Though I was only there for 10 minutes or so, I can imagine a nice long afternoon spent there. Plus there is a poolside bar that I’m sure is amazing!

Overall Thoughts on St. Regis Atlanta GA

Our short family getaway was well spent at St. Regis Atlanta. It was the perfect way to dip our toes into travel without a huge commitment. Every staff member we encountered was kind and warm. I never felt judged for having a baby at the resort, in fact, most of the staff cooed and made me feel good about having my baby there. All the staff wore masks and I never felt uncomfortable during this pandemic. All in all the St. Regis was wonderful and I would gladly visit again. It may not have been a week at Disney, but the level of service and luxury made our vacation feel completely relaxing and was exactly what we needed. =)

While I might not have been able to go to Walt Disney World this time, here are the things I am looking forward to doing with my wee one when we go!
