If you’ve been following along the past few months, you know I ran the Walt Disney World Marathon in January. You may also know that we stayed at (and LOVED) the Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs Resort. We spent a lot of time during our stay walking around Coronado Springs and enjoying the restaurants. We tried Three Bridges Bar and Grill, and Rix Sports Bar and Grill. Both were excellent and added to our overall positive impression of Coronado Springs. Read on for the full dining at Coronado Springs Resort: Three Bridges and Rix Review all about our tasty eats!

Three Bridges Bar and Grill

The night before the Marathon I wanted to eat something light and nutritious. We decided to take the short walk around the central lake at Coronado Springs to Three Bridges Bar and Grill. The location was picturesque as we strolled at sunset over one of the “Three Bridges” to get to the restaurant. Sunsets at Coronado Springs are quite breathtaking.

The location is open-air and situated in the middle of Lago Dorado. The menu is Spanish-American themed, so there is something for everyone. They have an extensive drink list (the Sangria looked amazing), and ample plush seating.

Eats

"Villa del Lago Salad" at Three Bridges.

We were seated quickly without a reservation. Our servers were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the “Villa del Lago Salad”, which was fresh arugula and frisee salad with warm potatoes and beans, plus chicken that I added for a few dollars extra. The salad was large and flavorful, while still being healthy. It was the perfect choice for my pre-marathon meal! This is a great option for anyone needing a lighter meal after a few too many Mickey bars (hey, it happens to the best of us).

Tacos at Three Bridges

My husband decided on the “Braised Pork Tacos” with a side of fruit. His tacos were topped with slaw, salsa verde, and Cojita cheese. He liked his meal, though he had had tacos earlier in the day which he thought were better (check out my Boathouse review here!). I tried a bite and enjoyed the tangy bite of slaw that topped the pork. They were good and filling, just not his favorite tacos that day.

The ambiance was relaxing and mellow as we took in the views around the lake. I could see this being a great way to unwind after a busy day at the parks on your feet. I would love to go back when I’m not running a marathon the next day and try that Sangria!

Rix Sports Bar and Grill

Our last day of the trip, before we had to catch the Magical Express, we decided to spend some more time wandering around the resort. We stopped at Rix for an early dinner. When we arrived there was barely anyone else there. We were seated promptly by the friendly hostess.

Rix is located across the hall from the counter service location El Mercado de Coronado. Rix is, as the name suggests, an upscale sports bar. There are televisions, 31 to be exact, all around the restaurant. The cuisine is American and is sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. They also have a full bar with some spectacular specialty drinks.

Eats

Turkey and Brie Sandwich at Rix

I ordered the “Turkey and Brie” sandwich and the “Half Rix Salad” as my side item. This was a TASTY concoction! As you can imagine, brie and turkey are a match made in heaven, so this sandwich was a win for me! I also loved the side salad, it was a great value to get such a large and substantial side with my meal.

Florida Grouper Sandwich at Rix

My husband, the seafood lover, chose the “Florida Grouper Sandwich” along with the “Half Rix Salad” side. He LOVED his sandwich! He said that he’d never had such perfectly cooked fish in a sandwich. In fact, he has told me several times that we can go back to Rix anytime, just for that sandwich! So, his meal was a home run and his favorite thing he ate during our entire trip.

Drinks

Tasty Jalapeno Margarita at Rix!

We also tried a few drinks, which were fantastic! He got a mojito, and I got the Jalapeno Margarita. This was the best margarita I’ve had in a long time! I loved the spicy hint of jalapeno to round out the semi-sweet margarita. It was also a fairly strong drink, which can be hard to find on Disney property. My husband enjoyed his drink, just not as much as mine. 😉

The service we received at Rix was top-notch, and the food and drinks were surprisingly high quality. Overall, Rix was a great find and a fantastic meal. I can’t say I was expecting anything amazing from a Sports bar, but Rix definitely FAR surpassed my expectations! Plus, the Hubs loved it, so this is on our radar for future trips!

Conclusion

Coronado Springs Resort has A LOT going for it. From the gorgeous grounds to the elevated dining options, it was a perfect choice for us during Marathon weekend. I was so impressed with everything we ate at the resort and feel that even though it is a “moderate” resort, it truly feels like a luxurious escape. I know I would gladly stay there again and try even more amazing food!
