It’s almost the New Year, which means it’s a great time to talk about goals! I love writing down my goals and keeping them somewhere easy for me to see. They help keep me on track and motivated no matter what I am doing. Travel goals are especially helpful on those tough days when I need something positive to look forward too. Here are my badass travel goals to achieve in 2020! Make sure to write down your own list. Hopefully I can inspire a little wanderlust in you!

International Trip

My husband and I have a lifetime goal of one international trip a year. Life may get in the way of this, but for now we intend to keep up with it! We have been talking about visiting Spain lately. This appeals to me since I’ve heard great things about the country, and it is a more reasonably priced trip than central Europe. Plus, any place with good wine and a daily siesta sounds like our kind of trip!

More Nature

I love being in nature, though I don’t make much time for it. In the coming year, my husband and I will hopefully take our first camping trip together! Camping isn’t something I tend to prioritize (I’m not the best camper), but I know I always enjoy it once I’m out there.

Another lifelong goal we have is to visit as many (if not all) US National Parks. We’ve done three together so far (Zion, The Great Smoky Mountains, and Mammoth Cave) and will check off one more next year. We are planning to check out Glacier National park towards the end of 2020.

Take a Cruise

This one may be more of a goal that I set for me and my husband… He is not really interested in the whole “cruise” concept (he is definitely more interested in the “nature” goal above), but he has agreed to go on at least one with me before dismissing them entirely. I have only cruised twice in my life, once when I was 18, and a short Disney Cruise a few years ago. I think we would have a fantastic time on a Disney Cruise, so I am keeping an eye on deals for next year! Fingers crossed we can make it happen!

Romantic Getaway

Our wedding trip earlier this year was nothing short of amazing. We got to do Walt Disney World and get married during our vacation (check out how we pulled it off here!). We got the wedding of our dreams, and I am so grateful for that! Even with such a great wedding trip, I still dream of that classic beachy honeymoon. We knew we would have to wait to do one (living that military life!), so we’ve been holding off on booking anything. (Not to say that some of us may have a few ideas… hey, I’m a planner! It’s what I do!) In 2020 we will go on our Honeymoon and live that romantic tropical dream trip!

Road Trip!

Now that I am living with my husband, and he will be getting out of the Army soon, we fully intend on exploring as much possible! He loves to drive, and I love not having to drive, so road trips are a great and inexpensive way for us to explore! I know we will embark on a least a few adventures by car in the coming year.

Explore Nearby Cities

As 2020 approaches, my husband and I are planning on moving closer to his new job. This will take us closer to Nashville and a few other smaller towns in the area. If you read my posts about why I loved the city I moved from, Austin (if not check it out here), you know that I thrive on exploring cities and finding the very best things to do and eat there. After my recent move I know there is SO MUCH for me to explore in this area, and I look forward to falling in love with Tennessee too!

The coming year is going to be FULL of change and excitment for me and my husband. Even with the coming changes I know that travel is still a huge goal and we are excited to work through this list. Now you know my badass travel goals for 2020, let me know in the comments what yours are!

  1. We have had all of these trips other than a romantic getaway. That’s on my list for next year. Traveling does refresh you unlike any other thing and I can perform better in my daily routine if I have a trip to look forward to!

  2. I’m hoping to do Disneyland and a cruise next year! I’ve only been on one cruise when I was 22 but I think it would be a more relaxing way to vacation now that I have kids!

  3. I love these ideas. Perfect bucket list for 2020 And beyond. I hope you check them all off and we get to read all about your adventures.

  4. I visited Spain this past summer and highly recommend. It is a beautiful, historic country with amazing food! My travel goals for 2020 are going places where I can experience the change of seasons since that really doesn’t happen where I live.

  5. Fantastic list. I do love a good roadtrip – you never know what you’re going to see. A recent one we came across a giant pistachio! We stopped inside and had the best pistachio brittle ever. Those little surprises make for fun memories.

  6. Your badass travel goals for 2020 are great! I love that all your goals are so different and in many directions! I hope that you will reach them! 🙂
