We can all use a little joy in our lives right now. Recently my husband and I were road-trippin’ and started talking about our favorite attractions at Walt Disney World! This was so much fun and brought happy memories flooding back for both of us. I thought I’d share my personal list and hopefully inspire you to create your own! Obviously, these are my personal fav’s which are highly influenced by nostalgia and my own preferences. I also haven’t visited Galaxy’s Edge or ridden the new Micky’s Runaway Railway yet (I know! Tragic!) so I won’t be including those. Hopefully, I can get back to Disney this year (wee one in tow!) and update this list next year. So, without further ado, here are my top 20 Walt Disney World Attractions of 2020!
20. Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room
This is a classic attraction that will bring joy to anyone young or old. It is one of the attractions I remember doing as a child (in Disneyland) so the nostalgia factor is high here.
19. Star Tours
While it may not be the newest or fanciest Star Wars attraction these days, it is still loads of fun and filled with Star Wars’ charm!
18. Slinky Dog Dash
Slinky is a fun beginner rollercoaster that anyone can enjoy! I love that you get a great view of the whole land on this ride. Plus the all-around theming is on point!
17. Jungle Cruise
Corny jokes and animatronics? Yes please!
16. The Haunted Mansion
Some folks LOVE the Haunted Mansion, like it is THEIR THING. I do enjoy it; it certainly is a classic attraction. Though, I prefer the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay in Disneyland. So while I don’t always ride this at Walt Disney World, I do like taking the occasional spin.
15. Soarin’ Around the World
I know the proportions might be off when sitting in certain areas, but honestly I don’t care! The sensation of flying with your legs dangling down is pure happiness, and I will always ride whenever I get the chance!
14. Carousel of Progress
This is a classic Disney attraction! The history about the making of this ride adds to the nostalgia for me, I always have to ride it!
13. Space Mountain
I enjoy Space Mountain, it is a really fun indoor coaster! The only reason it’s not higher on my list is because it is SO jerky. I feel like this attraction could use a little refurb to make it amazing (kind of like Disneyland’s version, I’m just sayin’).
12. Test Track
Honestly, most of this ride is just OK, but I love going fast at the end! It never fails to make me smile and laugh as you speed through the open air! I always leave with a smile on my face.
11. Toy Story Mania
The last time my husband and I road Toy Story Mania we had such a fun time! Riding this with a loved one and getting maybe a little bit too competitive is always a joy!
10. Rockin’ Rollercoaster
This is just a fun, fast, slightly crazy rollercoaster. I love the launch, and the track is so smooth!
9. Pirates of the Caribbean
Classic Disney attraction with a completely immersive experience. Though I may love the Disneyland one MORE, this one is still a fun ride. Plus, there’s that weird smell that some of us Disney addicts like (yes, I’m a fan).
8. Thunder Mountain Railroad
When I was just a little kid going to Disneyland in California, this was my favorite ride. Though it has fallen down the list a bit, and it’s not the exact same as the Disneyland one, it is still something that I always look forward too!
7. Kilimanjaro Safari
This ride is the ultimate re-rideable attraction. Animals are always doing something different so each experience is unique. I love animals and this ride is a can’t miss for me!
6. Living With The Land
If you like boat rides, and gardens, this is a perfect combination! I remember riding this on my first trip to Epcot, it’s just a classic attraction. It reminds me of how Epcot used to be, plus I love all the amazing veggies!
5. Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemovers
This is such a fun look at Tomorrowland, and the wait is never too long. I will always make a point to ride the Peoplemovers, it just makes me happy. It’s a little old school (and reminds me of Disneyland’s version!) so I love the nostalgia aspect.
4. Flight of Passage
Flight of Passage is an incredible experience! It is like nothing I have ridden before. The immersive elements and flying sensation are so well done, I always get off this ride feeling relaxed, and like I want to ride again.
3. Spaceship Earth
The first time I went to Epcot was in the 8th grade for a school trip. I loved this ride so much that I made my friends ride it twice and we were almost late checking in with my class at the end of the night! It is still one of my favorites and I cannot pass up a chance to ride through the iconic golf ball!
2. Expedition Everest
This is what Disney is all about, an immersive experience with a fantastic thrill ride. This one blows me away every time, I love it! Disco yeti!
1. Splash Mountain
Even though it is being re-themed as Princess and the Frog (which I love, so it should be fun), my favorite attraction for many years has been Splash. The music, animatronics, and theming make this a home run for me! I’m sad to not get to ride it one last time, but hopefully, the new version will be just as magical!
Don’t forget to play at home and make your OWN list! Let me know in the comments what your favorites are! =)

Thunder mountain railroad was my favorite ride growing up!! I’d love to go back now and try out so many of the new attractions!
I was supposed to be at Disney World just a couple weeks ago but since we live in the PNW, it was just a long way to travel during COVID. Plus, I’ve never been to Disney World so I want to experience it all when we do go. Hopefully this upcoming year! In the meantime, I’ll imagine I’m there through your posts! 😊
Definitely saving this for next time we visit! We LOVED the Slinky Dog Dash when we were there!
