2020 ended up with a whole lotta canceled Walt Disney World trips, my family included. Luckily, our park tickets are good until September 2021! My husband and I have decided we want to attempt a trip to the magic right before those tickets expire. While I fully accept that this trip might not happen as it all depends on vaccines, our very little baby being good in the car, and whatever else gets thrown our way, it’s still fun to plan and dream =) SO much has and will change since we last visited and you know I’ve got a list of things to try! So here is what I’m looking forward to at Walt Disney World in 2021. ❤

Hotel and Pre-Stay

Since we will have a tiny baby at the time we are planning on going; I’ve gotten the green light from the Hubbs to stay somewhere super convenient. We will likely be heading back for naps and/or fussy baby, we need someplace we can pop in and out of. I want to spend a decent amount of time in Epcot and Hollywood Studios, so I am leaning towards a few places I’ve never stayed at before like the Yacht and Beach Club or the Swan and Dolphin. We’re still waiting to book something until after the baby arrives, so I’m still considering all my options. A convenient Skyliner resort could also be amazing, like the new Riviera Resort! Any suggestions? Let me know in the comments!

We have also been talking about buying some fun magic bands. Disney used to give free basic magic bands with your Disney Resort stay, a perk that they are discontinuing. Magic bands will still work as your room key and park entry, so you can use your old bands from past trips. We have many solid colored bands, though we have never purchased the “upgraded’ design bands. This could be a fun way to plus-up our trip just a little and bring some personalization to our Disney bling!

Star Wars Galaxy's Edge

Attractions

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge

The last time we were at Walt Disney World, Galaxy’s Edge had just opened and we assumed we would be back later that year (that year being 2020) to check it out. Well…. That didn’t happen. So we are super excited to check it out on our next visit and ride whatever we can! I hear getting a boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance is not super reliable, so we’ll see if we luck out with that.

Mickey’s Runaway Railway

This is another new addition to Hollywood Studios in 2020. It is a family-friendly dark ride that uses trackless technology. It looks super cute and innovative. I’ve heard great things about Mickey’s debut ride and I can’t wait to try it out!

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Slated to open this year, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure looks amazing! This is a transplant from Disneyland Paris, making its way to Epcot Paris in Florida! It looks like it is very close to opening, so fingers crossed it’s up and running by September!

The Skyliner in Epcot

Transportation

The Skyliner

Fast and fun transportation, the Skyliner seems like a great option to get around Walt Disney World! We haven’t gotten the chance to ride it, but I’m going to make a point to try it out on our next visit!

Food from Festival of the Arts! Can’t wait to see what Food and Wine Fest has!

Food and Drink

Oh Disney food, how I love thee. I always have a running list of food to try at Disney (my husband claims I’m a different person when I’m eating/snacking there). Some events and items I am currently excited to try are:

Food and Wine Festival

I’m super stoked to try some snacks at this festival! We’ve never been during Food and Wine, though I bet it’s incredible for foodies like us!

Snacks!

Here are some snacks I am particularly looking forward to try on our next trip!

Boardwalk Bakery- Anything from here! But especially cupcakes!!

Carrot Cake Cookie – Hollywood Studios

Blue Milk- Hollywood Studios

Ronto Wrap- Hollywood Studios

Ahi Nachos- Animal Kingdom

Last Thoughts

While my husband and I are fairly laid-back park goers, I have a feeling this trip will test our ability to be flexible. I know there will be plenty of afternoon breaks and possibly huge changes to our plans as we will have our little guy in tow. One thing we will NOT be doing this next trip is attending the Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration. The festivities start in October, and I am honestly happy to be missing them. I am sure there will be higher crowds, but hopefully, September might be a little quieter as folks wait to visit during the anniversary. Overall, I am so excited and *fingers crossed* everything works out so I can FINALLY get back to my happy place!
